School Fees

Scholarships for refugee and orphan African Girls

There is not a general free public school system in many countries in Africa.

Students must pay tuition(school entrance fees) before they can enter school each year, as well as additional fees for end-of-term exams.

This prevents many vulnerable refugee and orphan girls from having access to school. All of the African girls we help would never be able to attend high school without the scholarships AGHF provides!

DID YOU KNOW?

School Fees

These are the 4 main fees that our full scholarship includes.

  • All local African schools require each student to pay before each semester.

  • End of the year exams are required to graduate to the next year. These exam fees must be paid in advance in order for the girls to graduate. They are separate from entrance fees.

  • Depending on where a girl lives, there are often fees for transportation to get her to and from school safely. Safety is key in this barrier to her education.

  • Depending on which local school she attends, there are often lunch fees required for her to have any food during a school day. All high schools are boarding schools.

What schools do the girls attend?

AGHF girls are placed in many different local schools throughout Kenya and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

AGHF mentors work with local schools to ensure the girls are able to find an education opportunity close to their home and succeed in school.
