What can a Snail teach us? πŸŒπŸ’‘

Discover how African girls’ education empowers lives through inspiring school visits filled with hope, resilience, and meaningful lessons.

High school girls in Africa on AGHF scholarship

Visiting St. Claire Nembu Girls High School and Ruthimitu Girls Secondary School was an uplifting experience. These visits reminded us of the power of refugee and orphan African girls education to transform lives and communities.

🌞Listening and Encouragement

The day was filled with meaningful conversations. We listened to the girls and school staff, offering encouragement and hope. Together, we spoke about: Believing in themselves, choosing uplifting friendships, and staying focused on education despite distractions.

🐌Lessons of Growth

One of the most powerful moments came from the story of a slow-moving snail🐌. Our mentors shared a snail analogy. The snail’s steady journey showed the girls that bravery is often quiet, and progress does not have to be fast to be meaningful. Mistakes, too, are part of growthβ€”and every step forward matters. No matter the pace!

🐌 Lessons from a Snail

  • Steadfastness 🌱 β†’ Like the snail’s steady crawl, the girls keep moving forward in school, step by step, staying true to their goals despite challenges.

  • Grit πŸ’ͺ🏾 β†’ The snail may be small but determined, just like the girls who tackle exams, early mornings, and long study hours with quiet strength.

  • Endurance 🌍 β†’ A snail’s journey is long, yet it continues; the girls’ education also takes time and effort, but their endurance leads to lasting success.

  • Courage ✨ β†’ Even the snail dares to keep going slowly but surely, and the girls show courage as they pursue education that will shape brighter futures.

Real Connections

The girls were bright and responsive, asking thoughtful questions and sparking honest discussions. Beyond the classroom sessions, we also met with the school teams to gain a deeper understanding of the daily realities these girls face. These heartfelt exchanges reminded us why African girls’ education is so vital.
