January brings with it the start of a new school year! Every back to school year brings with it a little trepidation, but mostly excitement! Enjoy the pictures below as you see the refugee girls on scholarship coming together to enjoy an AGHF “Back to school” event.

African Girls Hope Foundation (AGHF) hosted this year’s Back to School Mentorship Activity at Release Church International. We are grateful to Release Church International for providing a wonderful space for this year’s event!

These events are a wonderful opportunity to inspire and motivate our girls as they prepare to return to school for another year! It’s an exciting time, but also brings with it many more emotions! During the event we hold mini sessions where our mentors are able to share important messages. This event emphasized that education, hope, discipline, and strong character are the primary tools for success. The girls were encouraged to practice positive decision-making, maintain respect for their educators, and remain steadfast against peer pressure. Also, the mentors highlighted the importance of facing challenges with courage and viewing setbacks not as failures, but as essential opportunities for personal growth.
