We are immensely grateful for the donations that have made this growth possible. As you can tell from these girl’s faces - this is no small thing! Their futures are now full to the brim with hope! Thank you!
Every girl matters. Girls’ education matters! We are grateful to be able to help some of the most disadvantaged girl’s in the world and together provide a path that will illuminate generations.
During this historic visit, Dr. Grace and the Nairobi AGHF team met the girls who are currently supported by the foundation and studying at Inyemeramihigo High School in Gisenyi, Rwanda. Also meeting with the school director, teachers, and the girls’ parents. This visit confirmed that both students are doing well academically and are studying in a safe and supportive learning environment.
❓ Did you know?
Rwanda’s education system consists of six years of primary education followed by six years of secondary education.
In secondary school, students choose a specialization starting in their third year (equivalent to Grade 9).
Meet Shania: She is enrolled in the Nursing track and will sit for her national examinations this year as she is in 12th Grade. She is close to completing her high school education. Before AGHF intervened, she had been sent home several times due to unpaid school fees and was about to drop out permanently.
Meet Divine: She will select her area of specialization once she reaches the 9th grade. Both girls expressed deep gratitude to God and to AGHF for the support they are receiving. Prior to joining AGHF, they had little hope of continuing their education due to the many challenges that refugee families struggle with. Through AGHF’s support, these girls are now able to study peacefully, safely, and with renewed hope for the future.
Guiding the Future
At Home: AGHF mentors met with the girls’ families, encouraging continued support for their educational futures.
At School: We are grateful to find the school administration open to welcoming additional AGHF-supported students in Rwanda in the future and ensuring they receive equal opportunities.
